Information You Choose to Send
Terms Entered in Search Tools
A name, location, or other term entered in a search box is sent to the third-party provider that operates the search service. Lake County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider may process the query under its own privacy policy and technical rules.
Messages and Contact Details
If you send an email or contact submission, the message and the contact details included with it may be kept long enough to review and answer the request. Messages are not shared outside the organization unless sharing is required by law, needed to protect the service, or authorized by the sender.
Technical Data Collected Automatically
Routine server, analytics, and advertising systems may record technical details when a page loads. This information helps show how the service performs and how visitors reach its pages. The data may include:
- The internet protocol address used for the request
- Browser name, type, and version
- Device category and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- The referring page or site, when available
- Date and time stamps tied to visits or requests
Cookies and Similar Storage
Cookies may be used to measure visits, remember technical preferences, and understand how pages are used. Most browsers allow cookies to be blocked, limited, or deleted. Some site functions or partner features may work differently when cookies are disabled.
How the Information Is Used
Collected information is used only for ordinary operation, measurement, communication, and service delivery. Those purposes include:
- Keeping pages available, responsive, and secure
- Sending search requests to the selected partner service
- Learning which Lake County release-resource pages visitors find useful
- Finding errors, preventing misuse, and resolving technical faults
- Displaying advertising that may reflect a visitor's interests
Government and Outside Links
Links may lead to the Lake County Sheriff, Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, courts, federal locators, public release records, and third-party search tools. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's privacy policy and terms control its collection and use of data. Lake County Released Inmates does not set those outside practices.
Some advertising providers use cookies or comparable tools on their own systems to measure activity across more than one site and select ads. That activity is governed by the provider, not by this Privacy Notice.
Parties That May Receive Data
Personal information is not sold by Lake County Released Inmates. Limited information may be transmitted or disclosed to parties that support a requested function or have a lawful right to receive it:
- Search partners that process a visitor's query
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Advertising networks that deliver and assess ads
- Law-enforcement agencies or government bodies acting under a valid subpoena, court order, or other lawful demand
Ohio public offices follow their own disclosure duties and exceptions, including those in Ohio Revised Code 149.43. That statute governs qualifying public records held by public offices. It does not turn this private site into a government records custodian.
Security Has Practical Limits
Reasonable administrative and technical steps are used to protect information handled by this site. No website, network, email system, or internet transmission can be promised as fully secure or breach-proof. Visitors should avoid sending sensitive information that is not needed for a message to be answered.
Visitors Younger Than Eighteen
This service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted personal information may use the Contacts page to request review and deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
Depending on the law that applies and the type of information held, a person may ask to:
- Receive a copy of personal information maintained about them
- Correct personal information that is inaccurate
- Delete information when no legal or operational reason requires retention
- Opt out of certain processing where that choice is available
A request should identify the information and the requested action. Identity may need to be confirmed before a request is completed. This process applies only to data controlled by Lake County Released Inmates. Requests about a sheriff, court, corrections agency, search partner, analytics service, or ad network must go to that organization.
Changes to This Privacy Notice
This notice may be revised as site practices, service providers, or legal requirements change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date and will take effect on that date.
